gmc TV celebrates 25 years of “A Very Special Christmas," the holiday album series benefiting Special Olympics, with a landmark documentary music special called “A Very Special Christmas: 25 Years of Bringing Joy to the World." The special will blend new and historical performances, music videos, interviews and inspirational athlete profiles. Featured artists include Francesca Battistelli, Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Martina McBride, John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Darius Rucker, Run-DMC, Jordin Sparks, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Train, U2, Stevie Wonder and many more. Hosted by GRAMMY, Emmy and Tony-nominated entertainer Vanessa Williams, the show will also have interviews with influential people who shaped the album series’ success including recording industry icon Jimmy Iovine, Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver and the Shriver family. “A Very Special Christmas" is the most successful benefit recording in music history generating more than $109 million for Special Olympics.
