Gold Medal-Winning Diver Seeks to Please God Above All

Olympic diver David Boudia is taking some time off from the 10-meter platform. After stunning the diving world in London with his unexpected gold medal performance, you might say he deserves a little rest and relaxation. Of course, getting ready for a wedding and figuring out how to navigate married life probably won’t provide the “break” from his sport that most would anticipate.

And that’s okay with Boudia, who found peace in a relationship with Christ two years ago, after disappointing results in Beijing sent him on a soul-searching mission. Now, Boudia wants to use his platform (pardon the pun) to share the same message of hope with others as he works toward his next goal, a trip to Rio for his third Olympics.

“My number-one purpose in life is to please God and to love on others,” he says. “I do that through social media. I do that in practice around my teammates. It stems from learning more about God’s attributes.
