Third Day's Mac Powell and author/speaker David Nasser are back with their second installment in the much-acclaimed Glory Revealed series. The duo's 2007 collaboration Glory Revealed: The Word of God in Worship featured a gathering of some of the most recognized voices in Christian music (Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Littrell, David Crowder and more) on a creative collection of Americana-influenced worship songs that spawned the No. 1 radio hit "By His Wounds."

Following the first project's success and a newfound spirit of community that developed among those who took part in the subsequent Glory Revealed Tour, Powell and Nasser approached the recording of Glory Revealed II a bit differently. Many of the artists and musicians involved in II came together for a week-long retreat at a Georgia cabin last summer, during which time they wrote, recorded, ate, prayed and worshiped together. And that sense of community is evident in this new batch of tunes.

Collaborative efforts are what make these scripture-infused songs so special. This time around, Powell (who produces) invites back artists like Shane Everett & Shane Barnard (Shane & Shane), Brian Littrell and Trevor Morgan, but also attracts lots of first-time contributors to the Glory Revealed family. Highlights include brilliant match-ups of Powell, Everett, Littrell and Jonathan Shelton on "How Great"; Jason Crabb, Shelton and Bear Rinehart (Needtobreathe) on the infectious "Wake Up, Oh Sleeper"; Matt Maher, Amy Grant, Ed Cash and Powell on "Since The World Began"; Brandon Heath, Mike Donehey (Tenth Avenue North) and Aaron Shust on "What We Proclaim"; Natalie Grant and Laura Story on "Praise The Lord"; Morgan and Casting Crowns' Mark Hall on "Rejoice In The Lord."

The rootsy, bluegrass flavor of Glory Revealed II will keep your toe tapping, but it's the special treat we get in hearing rare collaborations between artists like this that will make you want to check out each one of these notable melodies one by one.
