With the release of his aptly titled fifth album, Created 4 This, VaShawn Mitchell proves that this is his season, and that the past several years of career-catapulting success with the runaway hit “Nobody Greater” were no fluke – it was meant to be.
Recorded live just outside of Mitchell’s hometown of Chicago, Created 4 This reveals a more confident VaShawn Mitchell, one who not only knows his lane, but having been well-affirmed in it, knows that he has the freedom to do whatever he dreams within it.
Highlights include the high-energy album opener “Psalm 150,” the lead single, “Turning Around for Me,” which continues to gain radio airplay nationwide, and the catchy praise anthem “Greatest Man,” featuring Israel Houghton.
“His Record” is another sure favorite, featuring the inexplicably limitless range of former Sunday Best contestant Clifton Ross III. And don’t miss American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino and her mother, Diane Barrino, who join Mitchell on a tasteful remake of the gospel classic “The Potter’s House.”
The deluxe version of Created 4 This includes additional songs (like the rousing “I Will,” featuring Kierra Sheard), three live performance videos and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage on DVD. It’s slimmed-down counterpart, however, still features 11 tracks of must-have music from one of the most acclaimed, and still-rising, male vocalists in gospel music.
