Gospel Music Channel Adds Second Night of Primetime Soul: Sunday & Monday
Popular Southern Gospel Block Now Seen Wednesdays. Four: Southern Gospel's Best Premieres Feb. 25
ATLANTA (Feb. 24, 2009) – Gospel Music Channel (http://www.gospelmusicchannel.com) has added a second night of gospel soul programming and has scheduled those two nights back-to-back on Sundays & Mondays while shifting its very popular southern gospel night to Wednesdays.
Sunday and Monday nights are now the home of everything Soul on Gospel Music Channel. Soulful Sunday and Soulful Monday features back-to-back nights of soul-driven music, series, specials, videos and entertaining stories by the greatest names in soul gospel including Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Al Green, Mary Mary, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Smokie Norful, The Clark Sisters, Robert Randolph, CeCe Winans and many others.
Southern gospel shifts from Mondays to its new home of Wednesday nights and is anchored by legendary Bill Gaither and the popular Gaither Gospel Hour series. The Gaither Gospel Hour features performances from the sell-out and legendary "Gaither Homecoming" annual concert tours that have drawn millions of fans and also includes occasional Gaither-produced specials such as "He Touched Me: The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley" and "The Gospel Music of Johnny Cash."
Wednesday will also be the home of the heavenly harmonies of quartets starting Weds. Feb. 25 when GMC launches a new weekly series Four: Southern Gospel's Best featuring exclusive new performances by the top names and future stars of southern gospel music. Four: Southern Gospel's Best will be seen Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. after episodes of The Gaither Gospel Hour at 8:00 & 9:00 p.m. Brian Free (Brian Free & Assurance) hosts.
Artists to perform on Four: Southern Gospel's Best include: The Dove Brothers Quartet, The Hoppers, The Kingdom Heirs, Brian Free & Assurance, Gold City, Greater Vision, Isaacs, Karen Peck & New River, The Perrys, The Easters, The Kingsmen and many more. The series will also feature behind-the-scenes footage to provide a personal look at the lives of the quartet members.
