We’ve been keeping our ears to the ground all year, listening to the gamut of new releases in gospel and Christian music, and boy are our ears tired! But...after much deliberation and much bantering back and forth via cell towers in Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Paul, Nashville and Atlanta, the Gospel Music Channel staff and senior editorial team here at GospelMusicChannel.com have merged our collective brains to compile our favorite albums of 2009.
Now...this is by no means is this a comprehensive list of the many exciting, well-executed, and radio-worthy Gospel and Christian projects of the year – such a collection would be a mile longer than the holiday traffic jam you’ve been sitting in. But we’ve certainly put a lot of brain power and spin-time into identifying the 10 standout releases of the year. And then we added an ‘Honorable Mentions’ list to the mix because, well, 2009 was a feast of releases, even if we’re still smack in the middle of a record sales famine.
So with all due disclaimers aside, and in some semblance of alphabetical order, here is our list of the Best Albums of 2009.
