"Run Away" is a song written from the perspective of Jesus. My purpose in writing this song was to communicate the reality that the true cost of discipleship is very great. Being a follower of Jesus is not cheap or easy, but you must instead be ready to surrender your desires, ambitions, goals, etc. You must be willing to run away with Jesus as His disciples did.
