(Charlotte, NC, February 23, 2011) – Eric Benét has joined the cast of Trinity Goodheart, a feature film based on an original screenplay by Rhonda Freeman-Baraka centered around a 12-year-old girl on a mission to reunite her disjointed family. Production is set to begin March 1st on location in Charlotte, North Carolina. The announcement was made today by producer Rick Eldridge.
Trinity Goodheart is being produced by Eldridge (The Ultimate Gift) through Eldridge’s ReelWorks Studios. Joanne Hock, an award-winning cinematographer, has been tapped to direct. The film will have a limited theatrical release and has been acquired by gmc for all broadcast television rights. Mr. Benét stars opposite child actor Erica Gluck (The Game), who serves in the title role of Trinity. Trinity Goodheart (Gluck) is an exceptionally gifted 12-year-old girl who is raised by her free-spirited musician father Jeremy (Benét). When Trinity is visited by an angel who leaves her a pendant that belonged to her long-lost mother, Trinity concludes her mother is in danger and needs her help. Against her father’s wishes, Trinity begins a journey to reunite her disjointed family and, in the process, teaches them the value of love, faith and forgiveness.
Eric Benét made his solo recording debut with 1996’s True To Myself and has remained a force on the R&B charts ever since with numerous #1 hits, awards and critical acclaim. The three-time Grammy® nominated artist released his latest album, Lost in Time, in November 2010. As an actor, Mr. Benét appeared in 2001’s Glitter and on television in the series’ “Half & Half” and “For Your Love.” Trinity Goodheart is Mr. Benét’s first major acting role.
ReeWorks Studios is an independent production company founded in August 2009 by Rick Eldridge and Christopher Cates. Eldridge has produced a variety of projects including The Ultimate Gift, Bobby Jones-Stroke of Genius, the feature length documentary Running the Sahara and the award-winning animated series’ “Hermie and Friends” and “Gig."
