gmc Announces Time Warner Cable and Comcast Launches
ATLANTA, June 15, 2011 -- GMC, America’s favorite channel for uplifting music and family entertainment, announced today that it has secured launches on Time Warner Cable and Comcast systems totaling 1.5 million subscribers.
On Time Warner Cable, GMC has launched GMC-HD on its New York City system, and will launch in HD and SD in Upstate New York in July.
On Comcast, GMC will launch in SD and HD in the central Illinois area later this month.
“These launches bring us to the doorstep of nearly 50 million homes, a major milestone for us,” said Charley Humbard, president, GMC. “The 50 million mark is particularly impressive when you consider that we are an independent network whose distribution growth comes from selling our value and not because we are packaged with a sister network. Our selling proposition is based on GMC being an uplifting, family-friendly destination that the BETA Research organization validated as the number one digital network in perceived value among satellite subscribers.”
GMC (www.watchGMCtv.com) is America’s favorite channel for uplifting music and family entertainment. In 2010, The Parents Television Council™ awarded its Entertainment Seal of Approval™ to GMC for being “an authentic family-friendly cable network.” GMC was the only television network to receive the highly coveted honor last year.
GMC can be seen in nearly 50 million homes on various cable systems around the country, on DIRECTV and on Verizon FiOS.
