gmc Launches on XFINITY TV in Comcast’s Indiana Market
ATLANTA, Sept. 29, 2010 gmc, America’s favorite channel for uplifting music and family entertainment, announced today that it has launched on XFINITY TV in Comcast’s Indiana market, adding approximately 450,000 subscribers to the network’s distribution of nearly 48 million. gmc will be seen on channel 138.
Lisa Delligatti, senior vice president, affiliate sales, gmc, said, “We look forward to providing Comcast’s XFINITY TV customers with uplifting music and other compelling family viewing options, while working closely with the system’s management team to help promote the availability of GMC.”
”We’re pleased to be offering gmc on XFINITY TV,” said Scott Tenney, senior vice president of Comcast’s Indiana Region. “Giving our customers more choices and more control over their entertainment options is an important feature that customers want and expect.”
gmc will support the launch with a variety of marketing initiatives.
In August, gmc shot footage at the Indiana State Fair for on-demand airing this fall on the system.
On Oct. 2, gmc and Comcast will participate as sponsors in the Circle City Classic, a weekend of events highlighted by the annual North Carolina A&T State vs. Tennessee State University football game. As sponsors, gmc and Comcast will have an onsite booth, banners, stage mentions announcing gmc’s launch on Comcast and channel placement, and flyers included in attendee bags.
Other marketing support in the works includes a Family Fun Promotion later this year, direct mailing to area churches and email marketing by gmc.
gmc can be seen in nearly 48 million homes on various cable systems around the country, on DIRECTV on channel 338 and on Verizon FiOS on channel 224.
