This Sat. Jan. 26, The Kitchen Sink introduces new band After Edmund and features rising artist Ayiesha Woods along with its regular weekly feature and news stories. Ayiesha Woods has seen popular and critical acclaim for her power-packed Gotee debut including a nomination for the 2007 Dove Award New Artist of the Year.The album also garnered Woods a GRAMMY nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.Woods has been touring extensively as part of both the Women of Faith and Revolve conferences and is preparing her sophomore release for this summer. Another highlight of this week's The Kitchen Sink is a feature on a gospel group involved with The D.C.-based Art and Drama Therapy Institute.This institute treats persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, using innovative approaches to the care and treatment of adults with mental retardation through the use of art, music, movement, and drama therapies. In the upcoming weeks, Steven Curtis Chapman, Israel Houghton and Jaci Velasquez are among the artists who will make visits to The Kitchen Sink. The Kitchen Sink is an hour-long music performance, news, entertainment and variety program and is the only national show of its kind featuring Christian and gospel music.
