Born to Be Wild

Released: 2011
Genre: Family, Documentary

The Contender: Born to Be Wild
Release Date: April 8
The One-Two Punch: Morgan Freeman narrates a compelling story with super cute baby elephant and chimpanzee protagonists.
The Premise: After the parents of baby elephants and chimpanzees die (mostly at the hands of poachers) before they’re able to raise their babies in Africa and Indonesia respectively, two real-life women step in as parents by mimicking the behaviors of real animal mothers.
The Verdict: Clocking in at only 40 minutes, Born to Be Wild is an all too brief portrait of these women’s fascinating work. But the movie does successfully keep the audience wanting more by telling a truly unforgettable story with gorgeous scenery to boot.
